About the role

The Opportunity An opportunity for a Claims Officer to join our SA/WA Claims team delivering superior claims service to customers within the fast-track property damage segment. You are self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail, capable of maintaining high standards during times of change and resilient when facing challenges.

Your New Role As a Property Claims Officer your role is pivotal to the team’s success, proactively driving our claims philosophy and strategy and acting within legislative requirements to support the unit in achieving its targeted objectives. The key responsibilities for this role include the following, but not limited to:

  • Manage the claims process efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely claim resolution.
  • Assess policy coverage and escalate issues as needed to ensure fair outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, brokers, investigators, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and industry standards.
  • Handle recoveries from third parties to maximise claim outcomes.
  • Conduct self-audits of claims files to maintain high internal audit standards.
  • Respond to enquiries promptly, professionally, and in line with privacy guidelines.

About you To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in Property Claims is an advantage
  • Experience within the insurance industry
  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and participate in alternative dispute resolution.
