Why Westpac
Westpac is Australia’s oldest bank and company, one of four major banking organisations in Australia and one of the largest banks in New Zealand. We provide a broad range of banking and financial services in these markets, including consumer, business and institutional banking and wealth management services.
About the role
How will I help? This is a unique and exciting opportunity to evangelise automation technologies within the Westpac Group and enable all business units to achieve their goals using these capabilities. You’ll have real accountability to bridge the gap between IT and business communities on behalf of the PiAS UDA COE with a focus on new and existing User Developed Applications. You will partner with key stakeholders on UNITE matters and UDA initiatives, ensuring timely change and risk deliverables.
Along with exposure to existing and emerging automation technologies, you will work in an Agile squad to approach and apply application policy and standards while applying appropriate risk frameworks. A key focus of this role will be on developing and implementing documentation for automation solutions to support IT processes and maintenance.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Drive the achievement of Westpac’s strategy by working with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate, validate, and manage requirements for changes to IT systems, business processes, policies, information, and data.
- Manage requirements through the delivery lifecycle to meet IT and business needs.
- Developing and implementing technical documentation for UDA processes and automations.
- Review UDAs and automation solutions to streamline IT processes and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure that requirements and designs are defined correctly and support the delivery of needed value.
- Adhere to Group governance, methodologies, frameworks, and processes to manage and mitigate risk.
- Ensure all necessary project documents and deliverables are completed and retained as required.
- Adopt Agile practices in daily operations to deliver high-quality outcomes more efficiently.
What’s in it for me? You’ll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. So, we’ll back you in the development of your career, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You’ll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.
What do I need?
- Relevant experience in a similar role, working in a Senior IT Business Analyst function across process improvement initiatives, end-to-end process engineering or transformation, or major information technology delivery projects.
- Experience within financial services is mandatory.
- Knowledge of UDAs and automation technologies such as desktop automation is well regarded.
- A strong understanding of technology and business systems, both strategically and operationally.
- Experience operating in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven experience in producing high quality technical documentation.
- delivering change in regulatory and compliance uplift projects.
- Exposure to developing and implementing macros and automation solutions.
- Experience liaising with senior stakeholders.
