Why UpGuard
We obsessively seek out elegant, robust ways to enable our customers to find, acknowledge, and remediate cyber risk. With UpGuard, organizations leverage our security expertise and software to automate what was once laborious, spreadsheet-driven processes–whether it's monitoring the attack surface of hundreds of vendors or assessing the security of their own infrastructure. UpGuard is used by some of the world’s largest, fastest-growing, and most innovative companies.
About the role
Our Analytics team at UpGuard supports all of our teams to extract key insights from the data that we collect. We extract data from multiple sources and build insightful dashboards to display key metrics and support leaders to make decisions. We also build integrations between systems to seamlessly collect required data.
Where does this role fit in? UpGuard is expanding its analytics and automation capabilities by establishing the Analytics, Automation & AI (A3) team. We are seeking a business-first leader with strong expertise in analytics, automation, and AI adoption to drive operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and workflow automation across the company.
As the Director of A3, you will build the team from the ground up, overseeing the development of an automation-first culture, ensuring that AI and analytics are embedded into business processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance decision-making. You will work closely with Revenue Ops, Product Ops, Marketing Ops, and other operational teams, embedding specialists over time to create seamless automation integrations.
You will also own all n8n workflows across the company, ensuring a centralized and scalable automation infrastructure. While AI-driven product features remain under Product & Engineering, your team will support inter-company workflows that involve multiple departments.
This role directly reports to the COO, ensuring strong alignment with company-wide operations.
What will you do?
- Build & lead the A3 team, ensuring the right mix of automation, analytics, and AI capabilities.
- Develop and execute a company-wide automation strategy focused on internal efficiency and cross-functional workflows.
- Oversee all n8n workflows, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability.
- Partner with operational teams (Revenue Ops, Product Ops, Marketing Ops) to embed automation specialists where needed.
- Drive analytics transformation, making data actionable for decision-making across departments.
- Support inter-company automation workflows, ensuring smooth collaboration across business functions.
- Collaborate with Legal & Compliance to ensure AI adoption aligns with governance and ethical standards.
- Define success metrics for automation and analytics initiatives, tracking efficiency gains and business impact.
- Advocate for a data-first, automation-driven culture, ensuring AI is used as an enabler rather than an experiment.
What will you bring?
- 8+ years in analytics, automation, or AI-driven business transformation roles.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional analytics & automation initiatives at scale.
- Strong background in business operations, process automation, and analytics (rather than deep AI/ML engineering).
- Experience working with automation tools (preferably n8n) and analytics platforms.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights and automation opportunities.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills—able to drive change across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience with workflow automation, analytics pipelines, and process optimization.
What will give you an edge?
- Familiarity with security, risk management, or compliance workflows.
- Understanding of AI-powered decision systems and their business impact.
- Prior experience in B2B SaaS or mid-market enterprise environments.
