What is the focus of the role? As a Business Strategy Principal, you are passionate about shaping the future of the business and influencing Telstra's long-term strategy. By leveraging your deep strategic expertise, you provide the essential business and commercial insights required to support your assigned portfolio, senior stakeholders, and the business as a whole.

Your exceptional interpersonal effectiveness allows you to lead cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems and influence key stakeholders to shape and deliver complex and high-value programs of work.

You play a crucial role in driving Telstra’s growth by assessing market trends to support the development of solutions that are commercially viable across the business.​

What You’ll Do​  ​​Strategy and Finance - Strategy & Performance develops and executes Telstra's corporate strategy, including measuring and reporting of Telstra's performance.​ ​​

In this role, you will be involved in defining the next wave of growth for our business.

As Telstra has a centralised strategy function, you will have the opportunity to work across several interesting areas of the business, including Telstra Consumer, Telstra Business, Telstra Enterprise, Product & Technology, and/or Telstra International. You will also work on a wide breadth of strategic project types.    Key Responsibilities:  •Solve Complex Problems: Utilize your knowledge, commercial acumen, and strategic expertise to solve complex problems and create actionable strategies that position Telstra for future success.   •Create Data-Driven Strategies: Use data and analytics to understand commercial problems, extract meaningful information, and challenge senior stakeholders to uncover root causes and develop data-driven strategies.   •Develop Clear Strategic Direction: Take ownership of driving the development and articulation of a clear strategic direction for Telstra, considering the evolving industry dynamics.   •Analyse Trends and Translate Insights: Leverage market knowledge to analyse new and emerging trends, evaluate their impact on Telstra’s long-term needs, and turn insights into well-defined goals.   •Collaborate with Decision Makers: Engage and collaborate with key decision makers, including the C-suite, to understand market changes, anticipate risks, and prioritize resources to pivot toward new opportunities.   •Engage and Influence Stakeholders: Effectively influence key stakeholders across different business units and collaborate across a complex, diverse landscape to reinforce future strategic plans.   •Present to Senior Stakeholders: Use your expertise to present to senior and large stakeholder groups, ensuring their buy-in to relevant topics.   • Communicate Information Effectively: Communicate key information into useful insights to ensure stakeholders understand the purpose, objectives, and implementation plan of the business strategy.   •Manage High-Performing Teams: Lead a high-performing and highly engaged team by providing coaching and identifying opportunities to develop skills that deliver valuable strategic insights.​
