RACV is there for every one of its 2.1 million members providing roadside assistance, emergency home assist, eight resorts in three states, travel discounts and benefits, insurance, finance, member benefits and more. In the community, RACV partners with five selected non-profit organisations annually in arts, environment, health and wellbeing, mobility and safety, and welfare. About the role

About the Opportunity As the Design Manager you will be a member of the Property and Procurement department. Reporting directly to the Head of Project Delivery, the Design Manager is responsible for the design, documentation, and end-to-end delivery of architectural, interior, fitout and refurbishment projects across the RACV physical asset portfolio.   Come along for a new journey Your ability to build and maintain relationships across a broad range of stakeholders is fundamental to the success of this role.   You will be responsible for the design and documentation of projects as well as be required to lead a team of design consultants and contractors through project activities including scoping, town planning, design, procurement, construction and commissioning. The role will act as a design subject matter expert and work with stakeholders to ensure best practice design standards are achieved.   Key responsibilities:

  • Represent the project at project governance forums.
  • Connect project communications and reporting to strategic business initiatives.
  • Align project to project methodology compliance standards set by the business.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure project deliverables are completed, ensuring procurement activities are done in line with the approved delegations of authority.
  • Ensure all projects comply with the agreed quality standards and all policies.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe work environment for employees and support adherence to Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Produce project initiation documents for relevant projects, which confirm what is to be achieved, how, when, and within what constraints
  • Lead and oversee the entire design process from concept stage to completion of projects, ensuring adherence to design standards

Who we’re looking for and what you’ll bring.

  • Thrive in an environment where people are at the heart of everything. You’ll come with:
  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or another related field.
  • Technical knowledge and background in interior design, architecture and construction and a background in project management are desirable
  • VBA registration as a building designer and/or architect.  
  • Current Victorian Driver’s license.
  • Construction Card (Yellow Card)
  • Relevant trade, retail, and hospitality experience.
  • OH&S Training.
  • Training in Environmental and Sustainable Design Principles
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications and strategic thinking
  • There will be a requirement for travel to sites across Melbourne, Regional Victoria, or Interstate
