Over 70% of all funds under management (FUM) are managed in-house by our dedicated Investments team. We strongly believe our in-house management strategy ultimately leads to greater retirement outcomes for our members through lower fees, sustainable investment options and top quartile investment performance.

Opportunity This position supports managing UniSuper’s global equity strategies. This includes taking stewardship of the research investment philosophy and implementation. You will work with the Portfolio Managers in Global Equities to identify and analyse opportunities, incorporate AI into investment and portfolio management, prepare reports, foster a collaborative team and develop new talent. 

As an Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Fundamental and Financial analysis: Conduct analysis of companies in the Financial Sector (e.g. Banks, Insurers, Exchanges etc..) that contribute to the management of the portfolios and more broadly to support investments.
  • Idea Generation: Proactively generate, develop, review, and refine investment ideas / opportunities in the Financial Sector.
  • AI Integration: Incorporate AI into investment and portfolio management to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and innovation.
  • Tool Development: Create tools to streamline portfolio construction and the overall investment process.
  • Report Preparation: Prepare reports for UniSuper’s Investment Committee, external reviews, and other monthly reports.
  • Research Papers: Contribute to the compilation of research papers and other publications for both internal and external use.
  • **Team Collaboration: **Work closely with other asset class teams within the investments department.

About you As an experienced Investment Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to work with one of the best in house investment teams in the industry.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Investment Analysis Experience: 7-10+ years covering and conducting fundamental and financial analysis of companies in the Financial sector (e.g. Banks, Insures, Exchanges etc..). Includes building and analysing financial models.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to form strong professional relationships with investment team members.
  • Presentation and Analytical Skills: Exhibit excellent presentation skills, including the ability to summarise results and provide insight, coupled with strong financial modelling, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possess a high degree of numeracy, computer literacy and sound information technology skills.
  • Attention to Detail and Self-Motivation: Show self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively, meet deadlines, and function effectively both in a team and autonomously.
  • Qualifications and Professional Development: Hold post-graduate and professional qualifications, along with extensive industry experience.
