The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data across the Richmond Football Club and its associated entities. This role supports financial reporting, general ledger management, payroll processing, and business partnering to enhance financial operations and compliance. Additionally, the position plays a key role in processing payroll for casual and administrative staff while collaborating with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial initiatives.   **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:   ** 1.   Financial Reporting & Compliance: Handle month-end close, year-end audits, compliance reporting, and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) Return preparation. 2.   General Ledger & Financial Systems: Manage ledgers, bank reconciliations, asset register, and lease accounting per AASB 16 (Leases). 3.   Payroll Processing: Process payroll, maintain compliance with legislation, resolve payroll queries, and collaborate with HR for accuracy. 4.   Additional Responsibilities: Support finance projects, assist AP/AR functions, and work on match days or club events as needed.    Desired Skills and Experience

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 1.   Hold an accounting degree and be working towards CA/CPA. 2.   Possess expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll processing. 3.   Demonstrate advanced proficiency in financial systems and Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workday Adaptive, and Salesforce is advantageous. 4.   Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 5.   Be detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. 6.   Collaborate effectively as a team player, demonstrating professionalism and discretion.
