This role is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data architectures that align with business objectives, industry best practices, and evolving technology trends.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modelling, cloud data platforms, data governance, and analytics solutions while providing leadership in data architecture strategy and execution. This role involves close collaboration with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver innovative data solutions that drive business value.

What you’ll do:

As a Data Architect, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that are scalable, secure, and optimised for performance. Your work will focus on data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines while collaborating closely with various stakeholders to meet business requirements

As a member of the AI & Data team you have:

  • Partner with Clients for Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with clients to understand their strategic data objectives and translate them into actionable architectural solutions that support long-term business goals.
  • Lead Workshops and Technical Discussions: Conduct client workshops, discovery sessions, and technical discussions with business and IT teams, data teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements, define solution approaches, and ensure alignment with the overall business vision. Conduct architectural assessments to evaluate scalability, flexibility, security, and robustness.
  • Optimise Existing Data Architectures: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and build efficient, scalable data models. Assess and improve existing data architectures, identifying opportunities for performance, scalability, and cost optimisation. Lead initiatives to modernise and enhance legacy data systems.
  • Develop Data Architecture Frameworks: Define and develop comprehensive data architecture frameworks, strategies, and best practices for managing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Establish Data Architecture Standards: Define and enforce data architecture design principles, patterns, and governance standards to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across projects.
  • Design Comprehensive Data Solutions: Architect end-to-end data solutions using advanced cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Tailor these solutions to meet specific business needs while ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expertise in data architecture, data governance, and modernisation strategies. Guide clients in adopting cutting-edge technologies and best practices to drive data-driven transformation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Data Architecture experience (technical / enterprise / solution) including understanding of Data Architecture standards and methodologies, such as medallion architectures and data models.
  • Broad knowledge of system capabilities across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional SDLC or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches) and how it works in Data & AI.
  • Drive and desire to learn and advance your career in understanding and proven experience in cloud-based data science projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, leading a client along the data architecture journey.
  • Prior Big4 Consulting/data strategy experience is highly desirable.
