About the role

Marketing Development Representative (MDR) – Australia

Verkada is thrilled to announce the launch of our Marketing Development Representative (MDR) program in Australia! As an MDR, you’ll work closely with the Marketing team to support our Account Executives (AEs) in building pipeline and sourcing net-new business opportunities. We’re looking for passionate, high-energy self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced sales environment and are eager to grow their careers in technology sales.

The MDR program is a 10-month development initiative designed to teach you the fundamentals of outbound sales and prospecting. Upon successful completion, you may be promoted to a Senior MDR position, with an adjusted compensation plan and expanded responsibilities. This role serves as a stepping stone to becoming a future AE at Verkada.

Responsibilities

  • Make a high volume of outbound calls daily to engage potential customers.
  • Identify prospective clients and generate new business opportunities for Verkada.
  • Qualify leads and manage them through the sales pipeline by scheduling appointments, following up, and tracking progress toward meeting pipeline goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to develop strategies for achieving and exceeding pipeline targets.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market developments to strengthen your prospecting efforts.

Requirements and Skills

  • 6+ months of experience in sales or customer service preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with potential clients.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and strategies is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with an "inbox zero" mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for learning and growing in the sales field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

    Generate new sales opportunities and move them through the funnel by drafting outreach messages and sequences, and identifying the needs of customers

    Efficiently navigate the CRM and other operational tools to create, update, retrieve, and understand information about accounts and opportunities
