Senior Analyst – Audit, Financial Services

How will I help? As a Senior Analyst, you will interact with key business stakeholders and other Group Audit teams. You will be part of a team to conduct independent reviews of control frameworks, systems, policies and procedures, and deep dives across the Westpac Group and identify areas for remediation and opportunities for enhancement.

**Some of the key accountabilities are: **

  • Support the delivery of audit planning, including the identification of processes, risks and controls for testing.
  • Support audit engagements throughout the end-to-end audit process including testing the design and operating effectiveness of controls
  • Identify and document audit issues, including performing a significance analysis and agreeing management action plans.
  • Collaborate within own home team and with Group Audit subject matter experts as needed across credit, technology and risk and compliance.
  • Support the day-to-day group audit activities including thematic deep dives, continuous improvement activities, and other group audit initiatives.

  • Extensive experience within the financial services industry in Audit or similar risk discipline
  • Experience in financial markets (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of financial products (consumer and business banking knowledge preferred but not required)
  • Intermediate analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • A proactive, solution-focused attitude and the ability to think critically to solve problems and recommend actions.
  • Knowledge, qualifications and/or experience in data analytics techniques using Alteryx, SQL and any data visualisation tools is advantageous.
