About the role

The Business Analyst will play an integral role in the delivery of this exciting transformation. 

**Key Accountabilities: ** 

  • Working closely with the business, SME’s and other key stakeholders to understand customer and business needs, and effectively translate those needs into functional requirements 
  • Analysing and mapping current and future state processes 
  • Collecting and analysing data requirements to ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of data needed throughout the project lifecycle 
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to undertake gap analysis, and identify impacts to customers and the business 
  • Liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions to complex problems 
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications 
  • Writing procedures, processes and documentation for new systems and process enhancements 
  • Ensuring all necessary project documents and deliverables are completed and retained as required, in compliance with Westpac’s frameworks and policies 
  • Monitoring progress of key project deliverables and providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring milestones are achieved 
  • Assisting with identifying and validating risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions 
  • Supporting updates to the Online Share Trading Value Chain (processes and risk profile) 
  • Defining functional user stories and acceptance criteria, and assisting with completing user acceptance testing (where required) 
  • Supporting change management

What do I need? 

  • Experienced in continuous improvement activities and implementation of related projects.
  • Experienced in business analysis in financial services.
  • Skilled in requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledgeable in Agile and traditional project tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships.
  • Detail-oriented and pragmatic problem solver.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in high-performing team, effective in complex environments.
  • Experienced in managing medium complexity projects and achieving results.
  • Preferred experience in wealth management, platforms, or investments.
