About the role

Responsibilities

Your future team As a Software Engineer intern, you will use your foundation in computer science and awesome skills in writing software with minimal bugs to tackle hard problems. Whilst passionate about your work and delivering amazing quality, you're still able to go fast, which means using your time wisely for your workload.

As part of a unified R&D team, Engineering is prioritising key initiatives which support our customers in moving to cloud while simultaneously continuing to bring the most value to our customers through investments across our core product suite – including Jira, Confluence, Trello, and Bitbucket.

We're looking for people who want to write the future and who believe that we can accomplish so much more together. This program is open to penultimate year university students with Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency. The internship dates are late November 2025 to late February 2026, full-time for 12 weeks.

Qualifications

Your background:

  • Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Software Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical field and completing your studies before January 2027
  • Experience with JavaScript, Python, C, C++, or other related object-oriented programming languages
  • A real passion for collaborating with colleagues to build technical solutions to hard problems
  • Deep understanding of data structures or browser coding, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to tackle problems

It's great but not required if you have:

  • Technical experience from previous internships, projects or publications
