About the role
About the Opportunity As the HSW Co-ordinator, reporting to the HSW Business Partner, you will be responsible for co-ordinating various HSW activities across RACV as needed. Come along for a new journey You will support the HSW team in conducting incident reviews and investigations, routine site inspections and audits, identifying hazards, establishing appropriate control measures and providing recommendations for continuous improvement to all stakeholders. Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of HSW initiatives and programs consistent with RACV strategy, legislative requirements and best practice
- Support sites to undertake hazard and incident reviews and investigations, including leading investigations into serious incidents
- Identify incident trends and develop appropriate Safety Alerts and Communications
- Attend HSW Committee Meetings at sites as appropriate
- Facilitate learning sessions at sites and remotely as appropriate
- Support sites to undertake risk assessments
- Support sites in chemical management
- Compile HSW data for monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Assist in the development of annual divisional safety improvement plans

- Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
- 2+ years’ experience within OHS
- Ideal early career opportunity
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Good stakeholder engagement utilising strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
- Attention to detail and effective project management skills
- Knowledge of relevant safety legislation and associated regulations, code of practice and Australian Standards
- Current Drivers licence and access to a safe and well-maintained personal vehicle for work-related travel
It is not essential but beneficial to have experience in:
- Auditing
- Chemical management
- DoneSafe (or similar WHS System)
- Process development
- Project management
