Full Time Fixed Term until 31/12/2025
The Data Analyst is a position that sits within the Asset Intelligence Branch of the Assets and Engineering Division. The role leads the utilisation, management and continuous improvement of DTP Asset Information Requirements to enable the department to capture consistent and wholistic asset information covering asset modes across its life cycle. The role will support the Victorian Transport Digital Engineering Transformation Program (VTDETP) Asset Information Requirements Project in transitioning and operationalising these requirements into on-going daily business operations.
The role is critical and responsible for the collaboration of internal DTP stakeholders and industry wide stakeholders in driving the continuous improvement for asset data and information to facilitate evidence-based decision-making and uplift to asset data maturity.
The Data Analyst is a role that requires a deep understanding of the development, management and application of asset information requirements across transport asset modes to achieve the position outcomes.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
* Asset Information Strategic Direction – The incumbent has provided alignment to the management of asset information in accordance with developed strategic direction. The DTP has an adopted asset information strategic plan, with incremental improvement initiatives. * Asset Information Requirements – The incumbent has input, managed, and provided specialist advice into the management and maintenance of Asset Information Requirements. The incumbent leads the transition into operationalisation and maintenance of Asset Information Requirements Suite across Road, Rail and Bus Assets from a daily business unit perspective. This includes providing specialist advice on how the requirements can be operationalised in line with DTP AIR suite of documentation.
There are clear asset information requirements and specifications for inclusion in Client Requirement Documents, new projects, handover and operation and maintenance contracts, ensuring DTP has the information it needs on its assets for ongoing management, operation, decision-making and reporting.
* New or Existing Projects and Contracts – The incumbent has provided specialist advice on asset information requirements into planning and handover for new projects and contracts, and operations and maintenance for existing contracts.
New projects deliver the full network-wide assets covered within scope and whole-of-life implications of their projects. Existing contracts covers current state asset information on the network within their terms.
* Stakeholder Engagement – The incumbent has the ability to develop and maintain key relationships and communication channels for advocating the utilisation of department’s asset information requirements and continuous improvements to uplift asset data and information.
Funding submissions are supported by robust asset information, and it is understood where improvements are required in the quality of the asset data and information.
* Quality Management and Continuous Improvement – The incumbent has the responsibility to manage, monitor and report on the quality of Asset Information Requirements. AIR reports (Power BI dashboards) are prepared for DTP and its stakeholders utilisation and review. The incumbent has developed and managed AIR and data quality to drive continuous improvement. * In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic) other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities
Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
* Recognised formal tertiary qualifications in asset data management, asset management, information requirements management, engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience * Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite including Excel and Power BI * Experienced in stakeholder management within a complex organisation
Desirable
* Experience in Transport industry covering Rail, Roads and Buses * Experience and knowledge working with enterprise asset management applications (IBM Maximo and/or Esri GIS)
