We are an ASX listed company and one of five licensed banks in Australia with full direct connectivity and production capability across all domestic payment systems. Whilst the major banks leverage this capability for their consumer and business clients, our B2B model focuses on enabling other banks, fintech’s and corporates to deliver innovative and competitive payment and digital solutions to their clients and customers.
**We are looking for a Credit Risk Manager ** Reporting into the Head of Credit Risk, the main responsibility of this role is to aid in the management of Cuscal’s credit risk in accordance with prudential standards and Board policy to minimise the potential for loss.
The Credit Risk Manager will conduct monitoring and management of Cuscal’s credit risk on a portfolio of counterparty exposures. This includes the preparation and process of applications from financial institutions and other potential borrowers/counterparties for approval, by carrying out necessary credit, liquidity and other assessments in line with the documented procedures.
The role responsibilities sit across four key areas: **Credit Risk Management **
- Management of credit risk on a selected portfolio of ADIs and corporate exposures.
- Ongoing monitoring of counterparties' credit and liquidity worthiness and their latest development via all available means such as periodic financial updates and covenant, limit excess or watch list reporting.
- Identification of emerging credit/counterparty risks and providing these results, including the completion sector papers as required, to key internal stakeholders for consideration.
**Credit Evaluation & Decision Making **
- Preparation and processing of detailed credit submissions for all committed and uncommitted facility applications and annual reviews on designated counterparties for approval by delegated authorities in accordance with Cuscal’s policies.
- Provision of timely credit decisions for all permanent and transactional credit requests as per delegated authorities.
- Provide insights and recommendations for ongoing improvement to existing credit risk related policies and procedures and their implementation.
**Client & Stakeholder Engagement **
- Where applicable, meet with new and prospective clients for credit risk related matters.
- Providing information, training, advice and tools to the first line of defence to assist them to identify, manage and monitor risks.
- Assist with completing credit risk related remediation actions.
**Reporting **
- Maintain complete and accurate counterparty records in all risk management system and database on the designated portfolio.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for submission to ALCO and the Board Risk Committee and any other committees as required.
**About You ** This is a crucial position within Cuscal and requires the ideal candidate to have extensive credit experience covering financial institutions and corporates and a sound understanding of credit analysis techniques.
As the successful candidate we invite you to also have:
- Good general knowledge of the APRA prudential standards, particularly those applicable to ADIs
- Familiarity with lending practices and products
- Comprehensive understanding of credit scoring models and rating agencies
- Ability to read and understand balance sheets, profit & loss, cash flow statements and other financial reports.
- You are a natural collaborator and your ability to influence action and outcomes across cross functional groups
- Analytical and critical thinking mindset
- Self-assured in providing accurate results in a tight deadline driven environment.
- Tertiary education in an accounting discipline or similar field.
