About the role

The Policy Officer in the Fire and Emergency Management Policy Branch partners with hazard areas across the department to prepare strategic policy and planning advice and input to shape whole of Victorian Government emergency management reforms. You will be a self-motivated and creative thinker, capable of tackling complex policy issues and communicating options effectively to a wide range of stakeholders and decision-makers. To be successful in this position, you will have demonstrated policy skills, strong conceptual and analytical skills and experience in project and stakeholder management. You will thrive working in fast-paced environments with quickly changing priorities and have a sound understanding of Victoria's emergency management sector.   

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* Tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, social science, emergency management or environmental management or similar is desirable * Demonstrated understanding of Victoria's emergency management arrangements will be highly regarded.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
