About the role

About The Opportunity We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our Grounds team as an Apprentice Landscaper based in Notting Hill. Working closely with qualified and experienced tradespeople, Supervisors and even other Apprentices you will gain valuable skills & knowledge to ultimately secure your trade qualification while working in a positive, diverse, and supportive environment. We will invest in you over the four-year apprenticeship so you can continue your career with us, with the potential to move into Leadership roles such as a supervisor or manager in the future. An apprenticeship can open a world of possibilities. You will be provided with a secure, full-time, permanent position that allows you to have a positive work/life balance and advancement in your career. Full training and inductions will be provided, and ongoing training will be offered such as Chainsaw tickets, ChemCert and First Aid. A Day in the Life as an Apprentice Gardener with Programmed will include:

  • Attending trade school days
  • Assisting in the construction and delivery of commercial landscape projects (paving, mulching, concreting, pit installation, planting and irrigation)
  • Assisting with the assembly and installation of commercial play spaces
  • Learning from senior staff and developing as a Landscaper
  • Participating in daily pre-start checks and toolbox meetings

About You To be successful in this role, you will have a ‘can-do’ attitude, a strong appetite to learn and genuine desire to pursue a career in facility management or an essential services industry. Additionally, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

  • Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
  • A current Driver’s License is preferred, but not essential
  • Ability to lift up to 20kg
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Check and a WWCC
  • Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations, due to client site requirements
  • Commitment to building a long-term career
  • Excellent attention to detail and active listening skills
  • Motivation to succeed and a willingness to learn
  • Completion of a relevant pre-apprenticeship course is advantageous, but not essential
