About the Role Scientific Solutions is a Business within the Technology Unit of DKSH. Scientific Solutions is a growing presence in the supply, service, and support of Analytical, Material Science, Life Science and Laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables throughout the Australian and New Zealand scientific community.  We have available an exciting & unique Sales Specialist role focusing across NSW/ACT. This role services our industrial, analytical, water analysis, food & beverage and materials science customers representing leading brands and products in this space. Responsibilities and focus areas include:

  • Effective management of opportunity pipeline to ensure KPI’s are met.
  • Ability to interpret product benefits and technical information and turn them into advantages for your customers.
  • Development and execution of a sales plan to generate new opportunities focusing on key products/brands and customers within the defined territory.
  • Engage in regular customer visits and events including conferences, morning teas and symposia.
  • Attend product training sessions held both locally and by our suppliers.
  • Close cooperation with applications and product management to progress identified opportunities and develop technical solutions.
  • Development of relationships with key customer contacts – decision makers and influencers
  • Close cooperation with service team to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Have a finger on the pulse of competitor activity and market trends in your territory to support product management strategy development.
  • Report regularly on in-field activities and opportunity progress.

About you Skills and experience – we are looking for:

  • An energetic high achiever with a strong record of sales success within Environmental Analysis, Energy and Resources, Food and Beverage or Material Sciences
  • Most importantly a demonstrable understanding & recent exposure to the Instrumentation market (as previously outlined), including knowledge and experience with the key customers in this space.
  • Someone who can see the opportunity in front of them and is willing to grab it and run.
  • A commercially astute professional, willing to work both individually and as part of a motivated and supportive team.
  • A tertiary qualification in science (or related)
  • A passionate, accountable, high-performance attitude, with a willingness to be flexible and keep learning.
