About the role

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who loves to challenge the status quo. This is a rare opportunity to support the build of a Digital Design Practice with a start-up culture from the ground up within one of Australia’s Biggest Banks. Our team not only works on unifying and governing design across the whole organisation but also socialises, educates, and cultivates design led thinking. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital Design, this position is embedded within the Card and Payments team. You will be working closely with the Card and Digital Payment Systems Manager and the Payments Manager to drive innovative and user-centric digital experiences, to visualise and develop high level concepts and roadmaps, and to help drive, achieve, and maintain industry best customer experiences within the card and payments space. Use your expertise in design thinking, user research, and visual design, to ensure that digital products are intuitive, engaging, and aligned with business goals across the organisation. Deliver innovative and user-centric digital experiences that enhance the overall customer experience and drive business success.     In this role you will get to:  

  • Lead the design process for digital products, from concept ideation to final implementation, ensuring high-quality and user-centred designs.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual design assets that effectively communicate design concepts and facilitate feedback and iteration. 
  • Identify and drive opportunities to create additional customer and business benefit using customer research, data, and business requirements. 
  • Understand Group Strategy, the Digital Strategy and stakeholder goals to ensure that work is prioritised and focussed on supporting these. 
  • Drive innovation and experimentation in the design process, stay up to date with the latest digital design trends and technologies, and find new and innovative ways to improve the customer experience.

   ** ** **About you **  You will have an in-depth understanding of digital design standards, including user-centred design, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.  To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • Experience in digital design, including design systems, user-centred design principles, and accessibility standards. 
  • Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering insights to inform design decisions and validate design concepts. 
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design standards and best practices 
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and developers. 
  • Excellent communication skills to present and articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
