About the role

How you’ll make an impact:

As a Marketing Automation Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting Xero’s Customer Engagement, the Product Marketing team and Regional Marketing team by contributing to global and regional campaigns to engage, retain, update and grow Xero’s customer base. You’ll be part of a team of marketing automation experts, responsible for scheduling, designing, building, testing, sending and reporting on cross-channel communications via Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Intercom.

You will be a hands-on expert in all things email, with skills in content creation, HTML, workflow management, rules and exception management, audience segmentation and CRM analytics. Plus a great understanding of cross-channel orchestration to reach our audience. Youʼll deliver countless dynamic email campaigns and build many high-performing cross channel journeys.

What you'll do: - Using our world-class tech stack Salesforce Marketing Cloud & in-product communication platforms, you’ll build, execute and report on critical communications to our key audiences - Cross-channels campaign creation and execution from EDM, SMS to in-product placements and comms - Plan for, coordinate and deliver retention campaigns to engage, retain and grow Xero’s customer base and revenue per user - Work closely with stakeholders to curate emails with strong, dynamic creative and compelling copy that drives results through relevant messaging - Be a key connection point and collaborate with relevant product marketing and customer stakeholders, building strong relationships and working closely to align on customer communications - Work closely with Marketing Automation Leads to support global initiatives & capabilities for audience based triggered comms for scalability - Be hands-on in the tools which includes dynamic content blocks, audience segmentation, QA/proofreading/testing/editing/ scheduling/deployment, and analysis - Following best practice, keeping anti-spam legislation and Xero’s contact policy at top of mind - Review and understand analytics to identify new opportunities for improvement that align to Marketing and wider business objectives What you'll bring with you: - Direct and hands on experience in email marketing and/or marketing automation platforms  - Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Intercom - Skilled with SQL or other programming languages - Skilled in email development utilising HTML, CSS and AMP script - Proven experience reporting on email performance - Experience with stakeholders and campaigns management to deliver comms in a timely manner - Experience with different automation program types for different stages of the journey - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - An understanding of audience data, data management and development audience segmentation
