About the role

Position Details About the role: 

  • The Planning Officer will play a key role in the delivery of projects related to Statewide and regional planning.
  • The position will also contribute to the strategic coordination of broader project management and reporting (and other ad hoc reporting as required) across the Regional and Statewide plans team. 
  • To be successful in this role, you will be a high performing team member with sound project experience and systems thinking skills; complemented by strong communication – written and verbal and problem solving You will also have experience and the ability to work flexibly to respond to a range of emerging issues and evolving priorities.

  • Supporting the development of high quality analysis, authoritative advice and sound recommendations based on consistent evidence-based approaches to planning for the future mental health and wellbeing system.
  • Monitoring and reporting on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions.
  • Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met. 
  • Supporting effective working relationships and the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.
  • Supporting cross-functional engagement on matters relating to system planning to enable delivery of departmental policies and reforms. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of multi-level stakeholder engagement strategies, processes and projects to support the effective implementation of reforms.
  • Adhere to quality control mechanisms to ensure completeness and accuracy of presentation and delivery of information and events.
  • Under direction, undertake and contribute to complex projects and contribute to the preparation of briefs, submissions, correspondence and reports on a range of sensitive issues. To learn more please click ‘Apply' to view the Position Description on the Careers.vic website.
