About the role

As a Design Manager you'll build a clear and coherent design vision and strategy focussed on customer and business outcomes. You'll work closely with cross functional leaders to bring knowledge of customer needs, behaviours and possible design solutions into decision making. 

You will use your creativity and understanding of customer insights to create compelling and pragmatic visions for the customer experience, which create alignment and drive customer and business outcomes.

You will play a key role in leading a team of designers to work with their cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of products for our customers and platform.

Key Accountabilities  Strategy Collaborate with the Leadership Team to provide design and customer experience input into development of the vision, strategy, and roadmap/prioritised backlog. Drive cross-functional alignment on a product vision that articulates how our product experience achieves both customer and business outcomes, and the mission.  Bring both quantitative and qualitative research findings in to build a broader customer focus in both strategy and roadmap decisions, and evolve this over time based on new learnings.  Experiment and optimise plans to meet segment and squad goals and deliver on the business strategy, measured by squad metrics. Working with leadership across the organisation to establish great ways of working as part of cross-functional discovery and delivery. People leadership Manage and lead 2-4 product designers within cross-functional delivery squads, overseeing their work efforts and priorities.  Coach and mentor team members in their career development and performance Communicate the strategic direction, vision of the organisation, and help your team to understand their role in bringing that to life. Providing clear focus and direction and ensuring that the team’s ways of working are aligned with delivering great experiences and outcomes and the team’s workload is sustainable. Provide guidance, feedback and quality control on product design research and execution.  Process, practice and toolkit Elevate the CX team’s design process, practice and toolkit Support and administration of some of the CX team’s design tools, rituals and events. Skills, knowledge and experience Over 7 years professional work within the experience design field, with prominent experience working in product and technology teams. Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate with stakeholders, empathise directly with our customers and drive consensus cross-functionally. Proficiency in Figma and other emergent UX and UI tools. Experience in scoping and conducting user research to rapidly test solutions; with strong grasp of recruitment approaches and qualitative research tools.  Experience of UX strategies and trends across both web and mobile platforms Ideally having experience from health, wellbeing and/or aged care sectors; highlight a maturity in understanding the diversity of needs across our platform Ability to own and influence solutions from scratch and/or improve existing features, all with a user-centred design process. Comfortable in an environment where product solutions are challenged equally by engineering, data, product, UX and discussed with the goal of developing best outcome for the end user Experience working directly with developers for the implementation of designs. Based in Australia, comfortable working with a remote team.
