About the role

Do Work That Matters.  You will join CommBanks Global Lending Operations team which provides Corporate Lending support and administration across Syndicate & Bilateral loans. You will provide Corporate Lending account management services to our valued Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) and Business Corporate Banking (BCB) clients within the Institutional & Corporate Lending portfolio.     This team operates in a Middle Office environment and is responsible for the establishment and subsequent management of new lending facilities. This team also manages and maintains client and stakeholder relationships and will collaborate with teams across IB&M and BCB including coverage or relationship teams, Origination teams, Product Management, Risk Management and Operations.    The Role.  The primary responsibility for the Corporate Lending Operations team is to contribute to the overall servicing of Institutional and Corporate clients by managing and maintaining the lending and leasing portfolio of clients. This includes processing Loan Drawdowns, rollovers, rate setting and payments on loans while answering queries and delivering a high-quality service to our clients.

You will input and review corporate lending requests in the system via Loan IQ, read and analyse facility agreements and will get exposure to domestic and international clauses, which ultimately enables our team to successfully execute transactions within the regulations and guidelines.   You will support clients and help establish and maintain our lending relationship with them by timely responding to their queries and ensuring their lending needs are met. You will also work across multiple products including; Corporate Lending, Cash Advance Facilities, Bank Guarantee Facilities, Multi Option Facilities (including sub products) and potentially some bespoke transactions in Fund Finance, Structured Asset Finance and Project Finance products.     On any given day you will: 

  • Facilitate the execution of new transactions of Syndicate or Bilateral loans by effective engagement of internal stakeholders to establish accounts and allow funding to occur. 
  • Provide all “life of loan” support including confirmation of CP’s, first drawdowns, prepayments, termination and general insurance. 
  • Accurate filing of secured documentation, approvals and transaction documentation as well as accountability for remediating files as required within deal management system. 
  • Calculate facility fees, prepare invoices and follow up outstanding payments as required, and occasionally, manually.    
  • Support the evolution of the Global Lending and Leasing teams by contributing to process improvements and participating in expansion initiatives. 
  • Maintain effective operational risk outcomes, through continued focus on data integrity, activity recording and reporting. 
  •   We’re interested in hearing from people who have:  Well-developed attention to detail skills and will ideally have some experience working with corporate/Institutional lending products or clients. You will be analytical and will have experience reading and analysing documents. Ideally, you will have working knowledge of Loan IQ or similar lending system and will be able to maintain working relationships with internal stakeholders and our clients

  • Be commercially focused with strong analytical skills, including the ability to understand and analyse facility agreements. 
  • Demonstrated ability to form relationships with internal stakeholders and become a trusted partner to the business. 
  • Ability to collaborate with team members and contribute to a dynamic working environment, but also work effectively in an autonomous capacity 
  • Have a degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics or accounting.
