About the role

How will I help? Your role as Senior Credit Risk Analyst within Credit Risk Collections contributes to our vision of being one of the world’s great companies, helping our customer’s, communities and people to prosper and grow.

You will establish and maintain "best practice" risk management processes and techniques that support the stated product and customer strategy, produce superior reporting and analysis of portfolio trends to drive change and improve portfolio profitability and customer experience. You will be a key support to Senior Risk Managers in developing profitability-based strategies for delinquent account management across multiple brands. You will also assist with monitoring profitability-based strategies for account management, and syndicate.

Some other major accountabilities of this role include:

  • Development, research, analysis and interpretation of significant portfolio performance trends
  • Maintaining effective partnership with business owners by providing timely support in relation to credit risk, delinquency performance, collection strategy, and decisioning system issues
  • Liaise with outsourced collection agencies for operational effectiveness monitoring and problem-solving
  • Contributing to the monitoring of risk-based Collections / Recoveries Management strategies
  • Providing insight to portfolio performance and forecasting delinquency as well as bad debt loss accurately
  • Participate in business development initiatives and risk related projects
  • Development, implementation and monitoring of effective credit policies
  • Support the management of external stakeholders including Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia, ASIC and the Privacy commissioner where applicable to collections and recovery activities
  • Ensure credit policy and risk strategy is communicated effectively to the frontline and stakeholders

  What do I need? To be successful in this role, you must have experience in financial services risk management and be familiar with Credit Risk Policies. An understanding of banking, the credit risk lifecycle, delinquency monitoring/reporting, credit scoring, behavioural scoring, scorecard development and monitoring is needed. You will also have a strong grasp on the credit lifecycle, collection strategy, workflow, with exposure to a credit risk decisioning system. Other advantages attributes include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent risk analytics experience
  • Strong SAS, SQL programming and Excel/Tableau skills
  • Practical experience in consumer lending and collections
  • Proficient with data extraction, manipulation and analysis
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills and forecasting experience
