Your role with us: As Legal Counsel, you will be an integral part of our legal team, focusing primarily on M&A and Corporate/Commercial law. You will draft a variety of commercial contracts, spanning our marketing, sponsorship, partnership, and social media teams. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of the legal landscape in the digital entertainment world, contributing significantly to the company’s overall success in a dynamic marketplace.   • Commercial Contracting: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a range of commercial contracts essential to the operations of the group, including but not limited to service agreements, licensing agreements, sponsorship agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • **Legal Advisory: **Providing timely and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across various departments on a range of legal issues, including technology, privacy, consumer protection, and contractual matters.
  • **Legal Compliance: **Monitoring regulatory developments in the digital entertainment and gambling industries, providing advice on legal compliance matters, and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks
  • M&A Support: Assisting in M&A transactions by conducting due diligence, analysing legal risks, and preparing transactional documents such as share sale agreements and share subscription agreements.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law, admitted to practise in Australia. Certifications in technology law, intellectual property law, or privacy law are desirable.
  • 3-5 years in private practice focusing on technology, intellectual property, and/or commercial transactions. Experience in M&A and due diligence is desirable.
  • Proficient in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts. 
  • Strong understanding of technology and digital entertainment industries.
  •  Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Technology and Digital Entertainment acumen
  • Sports & Gambling knowledge advantageous
  • Cryptocurrency knowledge would be advantageous
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Spreadsheets, Docs), Slack, Jira & Intercom
