About the role

Job Description

**The Role **

As a member of the Housing team, you will have the unique opportunity to support the delivery of over 1,500 homes for Victorians in Cairnlea and Officer South. If you are a proactive, self-driven professional ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role, we want to hear from you.  Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Coordinating and directing development activities to meet Development Victoria’s objectives. 
  • Preparing financial feasibility models and monitoring financial performance. 
  • Managing project costing, cash-flow, and delivery against budgets. 
  • Directing internal and external project inputs, including planning, design, marketing, and sales. 
  • Overseeing project staff, consultants, and contractors. 
  • Administering development agreements and land sales. 
  • Resolving divestment strategies and negotiating new development deals. 
  • Implementing risk management practices and ensuring legal compliance. 
  • Opportunity to work on two housing projects based in Melbourne’s outer suburbs.   Desired Skills and Experience

**About You ** We are seeking a confident, big-picture thinker who is commercially savvy and possesses strong stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, and self-driven, with the ability to build relationships, show initiative, and maintain resilience in a complex environment. You will be excited by a challenge, resilient to change, and a skilled problem solver. 

  • Expertise in feasibility analysis and financial modelling, with advanced Excel skills. 
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of legal compliance and development contracts. 
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and self-management skills. 
  • Proven ability and experience in planning, organising, and coordinating development, design, construction, and marketing of projects. 
  • Experience managing and directing people to generate successful results. 
  • Experience in the preparation and analysis of financial feasibility studies, budgeting, and tight cost monitoring to achieve profitable outcomes. 
  • Proficiency in preparing complex briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language. 
  • Some travel to site is required, so a driver’s license is essential. A company car is available for staff for the purpose of site visits.
