Bankwest is an Australian bank based in Perth, Western Australia. It was founded as the Agricultural Bank of Western Australia in 1895 by the Government of Western Australia being renamed the Rural and Industries Bank in 1944, and Bankwest in 1994 before being privatised.

About the role

See yourself in our team    Being part of the GMSA Program means you’ll: 

  • Be part of a collaborative and inclusive trading floor, taking on meaningful work in a global marketplace 
  • Gain exposure to a number of teams across Global Markets through dedicated learning sessions 
  • Have the opportunity to receive a part-time position in Global Markets as you await your transition into a full-time role at the end of your degree (2025 commencement).

    You’ll need to be available for the full 10-week internship period from 25 November 2024 to 31 January 2025.    In your application, you’ll have the opportunity to let us know which Global Markets team(s) you’re interested in joining and why. We’ll take your preferences into consideration however we’ll invite you to interview in the team(s) where your skills are most aligned.     In the meantime, check out our website to learn more about each of the Global Markets teams.

  • An Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of your application, or 
  • A New Zealand citizen already residing in Australia and a resident for tax purposes at the time of your application, and 
  • In your second-last (penultimate) year of your overall university degree, and 
  • Maintaining an overall minimum credit average in your degree

    Financial and Market Analysis

    Conduct financial analysis and market research to inform investment and capital allocation decisions

    Investment Stakeholder Presentations

    Prepare and present to clients and internal stakeholders, including investment recommendations and pitches

    Due Diligence

    Manage due diligence processes to ensure that all relevant information is identified and evaluated
