Hatch is a new jobs marketplace that’s changing how people discover work they love. Modern AI matching technology matches candidates based on their underlying skills, values, and motivations. The re-imagined profile and job search experience provides a unique view into team and candidate cultures to help create great matches; more like a social community than an advertising board. The result is a level playing field where anyone can find meaning in work.

Hatch has seen rapid 10x growth in the past year, and is rapidly becoming the preferred job platform for Gen Z and beyond. More than 200,000 candidates and 120 employers now use Hatch, including Airtasker, Domain, HelloFresh, Hnry, News Corp, Nine, Qantas, Uber, and Woolworths. About the role

We’re looking for our first CMO! Someone with a proven track record in scale-ups, who is motivated to build a disruptive and loved brand, and a smart, sustainable candidate growth model. You'll report to our Co-founder & CEO Adam as part of our leadership team.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Creating and overseeing the marketing strategy to rapidly grow both candidates and employers.
  • Crafting Hatch to be a loved, trusted, and category-defining brand for a vibrant community of young people and employers across Australia, ensuring brand consistency and integrity in all marketing communications.
  • Developing a sustainable marketing mix that includes SEO/Content, community/social, PLG funnels, paid, and lifecycle/retention campaigns, to scale candidate acquisition & engagement within an efficient blended CAC without overly relying on paid.
  • Ownership of the marketing function, leading a high performing team to have substantial impact on our growth trajectory. Current team size is six, which can grow alongside revenue.
  • Monitoring and driving key growth metrics, leveraging data and to adapt strategies. Enhancing marketing reporting and insights to deliver insights and tactical responsiveness.
  • Partnering with our VP Sales to lead B2B marketing initiatives aimed at generating leads to feed our sales team and self-serve jobs growth.
  • Collaborating with our Product, Engineering and Sales teams to together develop a PLG growth model, and ensure alignment of marketing objectives with our OKRs.

You will have deep experience in

  • Several of the key channels in your mix, including SEO, community marketing, social, content marketing, CRM/lifecycle, brand, or paid performance.
  • Brand strategy and brand marketing campaigns
  • B2C marketing at a tech product company

Some nice to haves:

  • Experience building PLG growth models
  • Marketplace experience
  • Having led an overall marketing team is desired experience but not necessary. If you’re ready for the challenge, we are too!
