About the role

The partner & community channel is one of Cake’s key GTM channels. This role plays a key role in the growth and success of this channel. 

  • Engaging and growing Cake’s partner network in Australia
  • Organising and delivering education on startup equity topics to startups via workshops
  • Generating sales-qualified leads from partner and community engagement activities, including startup events, webinars & workshops 
  • Working closely with Sales, Marketing and Product teams to provide market-specific learnings and trends
  • Represent Cake’s brand and mission, building on Cake’s market leadership position.

Evangelism & Representation: Customer love is how we win. Think you can talk the talk? We'll need you to spread the word about our platform and help empower startups and our partners through networking events, sponsored startup community get-togethers, and content marketing.

Business Development and Partner Engagement: If you're all about growth and partnership, this role is for you! Help us identify and acquire new partners and develop strategic plans that align with our business objectives. You'll be the go-to person for our growing network of VC/PE funds, incubators/accelerators, law firms, and accounting/audit firms in North America, with a current focus on LA and Colorado

Growth: At the heart of everything we do. We’re building a scalable growth engine and we all build and optimise from awareness through to retention. You'll be a key player working with our all teams across sales, marketing, customer success, and product to drive campaigns and projects.

Outreach Campaigns: Got a knack for getting people's attention? You'll be running outreach campaigns to startup founders, decision-makers, and partners alike.

Product Development Assistance: Got a good ear? We'll need you to gather relevant feedback from prospects and help prioritise feature updates for our top customers.

What You Bring to the Table:

Experience: You've got a good few years (3+ would be awesome) under your belt in a community, partnership or business development role, ideally in a B2B saas business.

Networking Skills: You're a natural at networking and representing at industry events.

Startup Ecosystem Knowledge: You're in the know when it comes to the startup scene, and you understand how startups work and the key players in Australia. Ideally, you’ll understand startup equity, including startup capital raising and/or employee equity incentives.

B2B SaaS Models: You're familiar with B2B SaaS models and have experience dealing with startups, VCs, accelerators, and incubators.
