The Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker position is all about partnering with families and communities to create lasting change. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, well-being, and cultural connection of children and young people. At the Department of Communities and Justice, teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of our mission, making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

You'll be responsible for

Working sensitively with families

Engaging respectfully with parents, family members, children, or young people to support their needs.
🛡️

Developing safety plans

Creating safety plans and conducting risk assessments to ensure the well-being of children and families.
⚖️

Managing cases

Handling cases involving high needs and high-risk clients, including participation in court processes.

Key criteria

📜

Relevant diploma or degree

Preferred qualification in social work or related field.

Experience with vulnerable children

At least 2 years working with children and families.

Ability to build rapport with the Aboriginal community.
