The Aboriginal Engagement Advisor position is a vital frontline job within the Workforce and Aboriginal Outcomes division of Corrections Victoria. This role focuses on building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and organizations, while providing essential support to Aboriginal staff and Wellbeing Officers in prison locations. The team values collaboration and is dedicated to understanding the needs of Aboriginal people to ensure effective policies and programs are in place.
You'll be responsible for

Providing advice and support
Provide senior advice and support to multiple prison locations on cultural matters, working closely with the local Aboriginal Community, ACCOs, and other service providers.🔗
Building relationships
Create and strengthen linkages between the prison locations, Community Correctional Services, Aboriginal Community organisations, post release support agencies and the Victorian Aboriginal community.🏢
On-site assistance
Provide face to face, on-site assistance to Aboriginal Wellbeing Officers and Aboriginal prisoners as required.Key criteria
