This job is about making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by domestic violence and abuse. As a Counsellor within the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service, you will provide essential trauma-informed crisis intervention, counselling, and case coordination for victims and their families. The team thrives on collaboration, working closely with health professionals, police, and community agencies to ensure clients receive the care they need, when they need it.
You'll be responsible for

Delivering crisis assessment and counselling interventions
Providing immediate support and guidance to individuals in crisis, ensuring they receive the necessary care and resources.🤝
Participating in Domestic Violence Safety Action Meetings and interagency collaboration
Engaging with various stakeholders to develop safety plans and coordinate support for clients.📋
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service improvement
Keeping detailed documentation of client interactions and outcomes to enhance service delivery and effectiveness.Key criteria
🎓
Degree in Social Work or Psychology
Australian recognised qualification in relevant health fields.View

Experience in trauma-informed counselling
Demonstrated background in crisis intervention and support.View
