The Field Officer job is an exciting opportunity to join the Hawkweed Eradication Program, working to protect the environment in some of the most beautiful parts of Kosciuszko National Park. This role is vital for the conservation of natural habitats and aims to eradicate invasive species that threaten ecological communities. The team thrives on collaboration, outdoor work, and a shared passion for preserving the environment.

You'll be responsible for

🌲

Performing surveillance work

Conducting on-ground line surveillance to find and identify orange and mouse-ear hawkweed in remote locations.
🌿

Controlling hawkweed plants

Applying herbicides using multiple techniques to control hawkweed plants.

Collecting and recording data

Using technology like smartphones and handheld GPS devices to keep track of surveillance and treatment data.

Hiking and navigation experience

Experience hiking up to 10km daily in diverse terrains.

Current Australian Class C driver's licence

Valid licence for driving 4WD vehicles in various conditions.
