The First Nations Strategic Policy Lead is a permanent full-time job within the Aboriginal Melbourne branch, offering an incredible opportunity to champion self-determination and support the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the City of Melbourne. This role is vital in shaping how Council partners with the Community to create real, lasting change, strengthening relationships with Traditional Owners and guiding cultural safety work. Join a team that is dedicated to building respectful partnerships and elevating First Nations leadership, culture, and knowledge within the organisation.

You'll be responsible for

🚀

Leading strategy development

Lead the development and implementation of the First Nations Strategy in partnership with the First Nations Committee.

Providing policy advice

Provide thoughtful, culturally informed policy advice and analysis to guide decision-making.
🤝

Building partnerships

Build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, ACCOs, Elders, and community organisations to foster collaboration.
