About the job

This job is about taking control of the high-voltage systems that power one of Tasmania's most significant industrial operations at Rio Tinto Bell Bay. As a Power Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation of high-voltage assets, directly supporting aluminium production. The team values safety, care, and excellence, fostering a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are welcomed.

You'll be responsible for

⚙️

Operating high voltage assets

Ensuring a continuous electrical supply to the smelter by operating high voltage assets safely and efficiently.
🔄

Performing high voltage switching procedures

Executing switching procedures to maintain uninterrupted electricity to the reduction process, crucial for aluminium production.
🔧

Carrying out planned maintenance

Conducting planned maintenance on power infrastructure to ensure reliability and safety in operations.

High voltage experience

Proven experience with high voltage systems up to 220kV.
