Offering confidential spiritual and emotional support to patients and families, responding to referrals and opportunistic presentations.

Documenting spiritual care activity

Timely documentation of spiritual care activities in patient records, including referrals, assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Facilitating culturally appropriate practices

Facilitating culturally and faith-appropriate practices with consent, including supportive prayer and rituals.

Key criteria

Relevant qualification in pastoral care

Possession of a qualification in theology or related discipline.

Completion of CPE unit

Demonstrated completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.
