About the job

This job is a core delivery opportunity within the PMO – Projects team at Harmony, the largest gold producer in South Africa. You'll play a vital role in ensuring that projects are designed and delivered safely, on budget, and to schedule, collaborating closely with various stakeholders. The team values a supportive and flexible work environment, offering a permanent opportunity with a 5 on / 2 off roster and the chance to work from home 2 to 3 days a week.

You'll be responsible for

Initiating projects

Formally initiate every project via Project Charter, with a risk-based Forward Work and Execution Plans for every phase, with defined scope, schedule and budget.

Managing consultants

Oversee engineering and design consultants to ensure projects are scoped, timed, and costed effectively, addressing performance issues as needed.

Ensuring safety standards

Ensure facility designs meet appropriate standards, including Safety-in-Design and Pre-Construction Hazard Assessment reviews.

Key criteria

15+ years project management experience

Proven experience in delivering end-to-end projects in heavy industries.

Demonstrated ability to manage contracts and ensure compliance.

Proficiency in MS Office and SharePoint

Experience using MS Office, SharePoint, and Teams for project documentation.
