About the job

Join an ambitious and newly uplifted People, Culture and Safety team where making safety a daily reality is the goal. As the Team Leader Health & Safety Operations, you will provide leadership and expert guidance to ensure the City of Melbourne meets its obligations under the OHS Act 2004 (Vic) while delivering safe, sustainable, and compliant workplaces. Collaborating closely with business leaders and colleagues, you will strengthen safety capability and champion a proactive safety culture that aligns with the organization's values.

You'll be responsible for

Providing leadership and guidance

Leading a team of Health & Safety Business Partners to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety across the organization.

Overseeing health and safety management

Managing the Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) and driving risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
🤝

Building trust and accountability

Coaching frontline leaders to identify and control hazards, ensuring everyone goes home safe every day.

Skills you'll need

Health and safety management

Demonstrated experience in health and safety management within a complex, high-risk or multi-site environment.

Leadership coaching

Strong background in safety, culture uplift, and leadership coaching to empower teams.

Risk identification and management

Proven ability to identify incident trends, provide analysis, and deliver business recommendations.
