This job is all about making a positive impact on community safety by working closely with various stakeholders to create welcoming and safe public spaces. At Banyule City Council, you will have the opportunity to turn local safety concerns into proactive actions that everyone can see and feel. You'll be responsible for

Supporting community safety responses

Support the delivery of practical, prevention-focused community safety responses and improve perceptions of safety and community confidence in public spaces.
🤝

Collaborating with stakeholders

Work collaboratively with residents, young people, traders, community groups, Victoria Police and Council teams to support local problem-solving and build trust.
📅

Coordinating services

Support effective coordination across services and place-based responses by sharing insights and ensuring community safety activity is timely and well-communicated.

Key criteria

📚

Tertiary qualification in relevant fields

Possession of a degree in Community Development, Criminology, or related areas.

Demonstrated experience in engagement and place-based practice.
