About the job

As a Senior Advisor, Cultural Safety & Engagement, you will play a vital role in promoting respectful, thoughtful, and inclusive work environments within the Far North Queensland Region. This job is essential for ensuring a culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, providing expert advice and guidance to foster cultural safety and support individuals and work groups. The team values collaboration and is dedicated to creating a safe space where everyone feels heard, valued, and secure in their identity.

You'll be responsible for

Facilitating access to culturally appropriate support

You will facilitate access to culturally appropriate supervision, mentoring, and peer support networks to strengthen holistic wellbeing and personal growth for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

Collating and analysing feedback

You will collate and analyse feedback from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, reporting de-identified themes related to workplace culture and wellbeing to inform recommendations for improving support and practices.

Promoting cultural safety practices

You will promote an understanding of the department's Cultural Safety Policy and work with supervisors to share knowledge and best practices in relation to cultural safety and competence.
